How To Throw A Super Bowl Party Food

Easy Superfood Recipes For Your Super Bowl Party Food

Anyone who tells you that you can’t have a delicious, organic, and wholly healthy menu for your Super Bowl superfood party just doesn’t know what they are talking about. From delectable desserts, to entrees that are perfect for any game day, to drinks that will appeal to any taste buds, there are lots of neat things you can do.

Let’s get into some easy recipes that you can add to your Super Bowl party food extravaganza:

  • Cacao Powder Chocolate Cake

Using Cacao Powder and Coconut Oil from Optimally Organic®, this is a vegan-friendly chocolate cake that will score a touchdown with anyone’s taste buds.

Simply preheat your oven to 350 F, and coat two 8-inch round pans (or one large rectangular pan) with organic butter or coconut oil. Mix almond milk and vinegar in your bowl. Wait a few minutes, and then add your coffee, oil, vanilla extract, and applesauce. Beat these things to a nice foaminess. In a separate bowl, add your flour, sugar, cacao powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Pour your first bowl into this mixture, and continue beating. You want your final result to be creamy and easy to pour.

Move the batter to your pan(s), and bake for 25-30 minutes. If you plan to add a frosting layer, use this time to combine your ingredients, and beat them, until you have created a light, fluffy frosting.

1 1/2 cups of almond milk (substitutes for almond milk: organic whole milk, oat milk, or hemp milk)

2 TSP of white/apple cider vinegar

1 1/4 cup of unsweetened applesauce

1/2 cup of strong brewed coffee or 1/4 cup espresso

2/3 cup of melted coconut oil

2 TSP of pure vanilla extract

2 cups/2 Tbsp of whole-wheat pastry flour

1 1/3 cup of organic turbinado cane sugar, honey, or maple syrup

1 cup of raw cacao powder

2 TSP of baking soda

1 TSP of baking powder

1/4 TSP of salt

 

  • Broccoli and Salmon Pasta

This is a great way to go all out with creative superfood ideas at your Super Bowl party food. Plus, you’re getting vitamins, minerals, and fiber from the broccoli. 


Broccoli and Salmon Pasta


The nice thing about this recipe is that it’s pretty straightforward. Using a large saucepan, cook your spaghetti to desired tenderness. During the last five minutes or so of your cooking, throw in your broccoli. In the meantime, add seafood seasoning to your salmon, and then cook them on your grill for around five minutes, or until you can flake your fish easily with a fork.

After draining your broccoli and spaghetti, move these things to a big bowl. Add in your cheese, tomato, coconut oil, salt, and pepper. Toss, until everything has been coated to your satisfaction. Pasta can now be served with salmon.

 

8oz of uncooked spaghetti

3½ cups of fresh broccoli, chopped up

6 4oz salmon filets

¾ seafood seasonings

2½ cups of fresh tomatoes, chopped up

7 ounces of your favorite shredded cheese

¼ cup of Coconut Oil

½ TSP of salt

¼ TSP of pepper

 

  • Baked Chicken (Featuring a Cupuacu Rosemary Reduction)

Baked chicken doesn’t have to be boring, as this Super Bowl recipe effortlessly proves. Simply put, if someone tells you they don’t care for baked chicken, then they haven’t tried this yet!

Mix together ¼ cup of vegan butter, 2 TSP of Cupuacu powder, ½ of a lemon, ½ TSP of Himalayan salt, and 2 TBP of ground, fresh rosemary. Let this marinate for two hours, and then add to your chicken while it is baking.

¼ cup of melted vegan butter

2 TSP of Cupuacu powder

½ of 1 lemon

½ TSP of Himalayan salt

2 TBP of ground, fresh rosemary

 

You don’t have to get rid of alcohol for your Super Bowl party food (unless you want to), but why not give your guests some options? Acai smoothies can be a sweet, unique treat for just about any occasion—including Super Bowl Sunday.



We also love the fact that you can whip up a batch of these organic smoothies in just a few minutes. Simply combine your ingredients in a blender, and use your desired settings to create your smoothie.

 2 cups of milk or soy milk

4 oz of your favorite alcohol, such as rum (OPTIONAL)

½ cup of Acai Berry Powder

2 whole strawberries

 

One consistent takeaway from our healthy Super Bowl recipes: All of them aspire to be at least a little different from your standard football party food fare. This one may get a few odd looks from your friends, but that will change, when they try this salad for themselves.

First, take all of your salad ingredients, and have them added to a bowl large enough to accommodate everything. Setting this aside, get a small bowl to make your balsamic vinaigrette dressing. After combining the mustard, garlic, and vinegar, add your Coconut Oil in a slow, steady stream. Make sure to whisk steadily, while you are adding the Coconut Oil. Season your vinaigrette with salt and pepper to personal taste.

 

SALAD:

6 cups of your favorite green leaf lettuce

1 cup of strawberries, sliced into fours

½ cup of blueberries

½ cup of Golden Berry

1 large, diced avocado

½ small-sized red onion, sliced fine

½ cup of chopped almonds

DRESSING:

1 TBSP balsamic vinegar

1 TBSP of Dijon mustard

1 minced clove of garlic

½ cup of Coconut Oil

 

  • CBD Oil Korean BBQ Ribs

BBQ ribs are a staple of Super Bowl parties, but this recipe calls for some pretty interesting variations to the same old thing. We think you’re going to find that these are some of the best Korean BBQ ribs to be found anywhere.

Mix together 1 cup of low-sodium soy sauce, 4 cloves of mixed garlic, ½ of a minced onion, 2 TBS of sesame oil, ½ of a jar of CBD oil, and ½ cup of turbinado sugar. This should be mixed over a low heat for a few minutes, or until it dissolves completely. Next, combine this sauce with 2lbs of flanken-cut ribs. This should be left to marinate overnight in the fridge. The next day, just as your party is about to get started, fire up your grill!

  • Maqui Berry Margarita

Margaritas are a fun addition to any party. Whether yours contain alcohol or not, a Maqui Berry Margarita will earn raves from all of your guests.

Simply combine your ingredients into your blender. You will then blend things to reach your desired texture.

 

2 cups of apple juice

1 cup of strawberries

1 banana

3 TBSP of Maqui Berry Powder

4 oz of tequila (OPTIONAL)

 

  • Coconut Oil Fried Tortillas (W/ Guacamole)

One of the benefits of Coconut Oil comes down to its versatility. Good coconut oil will cook what you need, without turning into trans fats at the same time. You can use coconut oil in a variety of different ways, and you can use it as a healthy substitute for butter, olive oil, or vegetable oil. Furthermore, the more coconut oil you eat, the better your body gets at burning fat! If you’re still on the fence about making the switch to coconut oil, then do us a favor, and try this recipe on for size. We think you’re going to find that healthy doesn’t have to mean losing anything in the way of flavor or texture.

 

TORTILLAS

While melting enough coconut oil to have roughly a half-inch-to-one-inch layer of oil, slice up your tortillas into whatever shapes you please. Once your oil is bubbling a bit, add your tortillas. Fry to desired texture, using metal tongs to flip them over when needed. Light, golden, and gently browned on both sides is the color you ultimately want to try for. Once finished, add the chips to a plate, and flavor them with a bit of salt and pepper. Add them while they are still hot, so they will stick to the chips.

 

GUACAMOLE

Now, you’re ready to create your guacamole. After cutting your avocados in halves, remove the seeds, and then remove its flesh. Once you’ve placed the avocados in a bowl, mash them up with a fork. You want your guacamole to be a bit chunky, so don’t mash them up too much. Sprinkling in your lime and salt, put in your chopped onions, cilantros, black peppers, and chilies. After mixing everything, cover your bowl with plastic wrap, and put your guacamole in the fridge. Keep your guacamole in the fridge, until you are ready to serve.

½ cup of coconut oil

1 TBSP of real sea salt

1 TBSP of pepper

2 Avocados (ripe)

½ TSP Kosher salt

1 TBSP of fresh lime/lemon juice

2 TBSP of ¼ minced red onions/thin-sliced green onions

1-2 serrano cherries (stems/seeds removed), well-minced

2 TBSP cilantros (w/ leaves/tender stems), well-chopped

1 TSP of black pepper

½ ripe tomato, chopped (remove pulp and seeds)

In terms of presentation for your Super Bowl superfood entrees, drinks, and snacks, don’t be afraid to get a little creative. Linens and tissue poms in your team’s colors is a nice way to add flair to the proceedings. Make sure you have room to display all of your snacks and drink options. If your guests are a little thrown off by some of the unique options, consider including short descriptions on note cards. Since you are most likely going to serve the entrees over the course of the game, make sure the snacks are readily available. Some even opt to create menus, featuring team colors and visuals, to give their guests an indication of what they can expect.


Drinks You Should Serve At Your Super Bowl Party Food

With Super Bowl drink ideas, we’ve already mentioned acai smoothies, in addition to the Maqui Berry Margarita. Here are a few more that you can try:

  • Live juice  

You can create a live juice recipe by combining different fruits and/or veggies in your juicer. As you can imagine, there are a lot of different things you can come up with. Acai Berry powder, Acerola Cherry Powder , Camu Camu, Golden Berries, and Noni Powder are a few examples of super fruits that can be used in a live juice concoction.

Alfalfa Grass Juice Powder and Wheatgrass Juice Powder are just two examples of super greens that you can utilize. Have fun experimenting, and coming up with something unique. If you need some inspiration, look for some live juice recipes online.

  • Non-alcoholic Super Bowl drinks: A nice live juice blend can certainly appeal to those who choose not to drink. Alkaline or electrolyte water should also be served.   • Make sure to arrange everything so that it’s easily accessible for your guests.
  • Keep your eye out for any plates that need replenishing.
  • Have plenty of small plates, which will allow your guests to create their own snacking experience. Make sure to invest in something that is recyclable, or better yet, something you can just wash later.
  • Send out your invites a week or two ahead of time. These days, a Facebook event page is probably the smartest way to get the word out, while also providing guests with relevant details.
  • Get the house ready ahead of time. What you really don’t want to do is find yourself scrambling to clean up, while you’re getting the food ready. Generally speaking, you should clean up the house, and then prep the food.
  • In the end, it’s up to you to decide if guests are allowed to bring their own drinks or snacks. If you are trying to emphasize healthy superfoods at your Super Bowl party, then you may want to gently indicate that no one needs to bring anything. More often than not, people are happy to let someone else handle the cooking. Still, you may want to make it clear that either you are going to take care of everything, or that people are welcome to bring what they like. A little variety certainly doesn’t hurt, and some of your guests may have a better time with at least one or two familiar Super Bowl snacks on hand.
